Just been to see a gorgeous mini, and want to do a check on it. but im not sure which checking service to use, as there seem to be loads of them and £20 seems a lot of money to pay for a check. i kinda want to get one done so i can get an offer in soon.

ive done a DVLA check and its not coming up with anything under that number plate. but this is a 1977 mini so i dont know what teh manufacturers name should be. i remember a recent post listing a load it could be but i cant find it

what checking services to people recommend and what manufacturer names should i be looking under? also i dont have all the details of the car like vin no. etc.

There is a mobile one you can use, the number is 83600. It will give you the basic details, ie what the car is and whether it has been written off etc. I used it when I bought my car and it showed it was a Cat C write off and the owner didnt even know.

I think it was £3 so a fair bit cheaper than the other ones if you only want to do one

thanks mate, just done the check and it all seems to be legit. even gave me the manufacturer so i can do the dvla thing.
