i have a 1974 leyland clubman 1100...
and i have constant problems with cold starts because of moisture in my dizzy....
whats involved in fitting an electronic ignition system?
my cars completely stock....
down to the motor, never been opened...still going strong!

there are a few aftermarket kits available in the uk, all of which will fit in either the 25d4 or the 45d4 distributor.
the lumenition kits are quite popular, and very reliable......there are 2 kinds, the first type is called the magnatronic, this fits entirely inside the distributor, with nothing visible on the outside (handy if you want to keep it looking original.
then you can get the optronic version....this has a power module you wire in, and the points are replaced with an optical switch.....the downside being that you have a little black box mounted in the engine bay.
i've had the optronic version fitted to my jem and havent had a problem in 15 years!
