Due to the fact that I have 4 kids (1 in college) I'm doing a BEC with a very small budget. I already have a Sierra diff, axles, etc.
I picked up a '95 CBR1000F engine for dirt cheap. I know it's not of R1 or 'Busa power levels, I plan to turbo it (already have a Garret T3 with a .48 A/R exhaust housing) so that's not a problem.

Does anyone know if the tranny and clutch is up to the task of a BEC?

The CBR1000F was not a particulary light motorcycle and was fairly quick for it's day, so I'm hoping it's gear train is up to the task...supposedly the motor will pull from 2000 to 10,500 rpm.

They are tough old motors so I've heard, the only problem I know of is they are very low geared so the usual 3.64 diff and 13" wheels will only get you to 90mph whereas the R1 in the same car will give you 115mph on the same diff. This is assuming your driving the Sierra diff in the conventional way ie propshaft. If you chain drive the diff you can have any gearing you like

I do have a 3.64 gear ratio...90 mph is a little slow...should help the acceleration ...will have to change the ratio..

I want to get it running naturally aspirated first to work out everything, then turbo it. So I have not made a turbo exhaust manifold yet.
I was an aircraft welder in the US Air Force so I'll be doing all my own welding (worked on the SR-71).

i am also plannin to make my own manifold i am just trying to get other compression ratio will be using spacer plate in between head and block
