Well, here's Bab's, she's a Mini City E, K reg. I've had her since May 2003. Since having her I havent done a great deal body wise, just added little bits to make her look pretty!

Bab's when I first got her

At Easter, I got her arches re-sprayed white to match the body

Newly painted arches

But because the arches had been newly sprayed and the body....had not! The arches appeared quite a lot whiter than the body.....annoyed me a little!!!

However it's getting to the stage where I can just ignore her little rusty patches, they're slowly getting bigger! So I figured I get something done about it! I'm also opting for a re-spray as I think her white is so old it's looking a bit creamy - I don't want a cream car!
Here's a couple of picture of a few of her rusty bits...

Rusty patch one
Rusty patch two
Rusty patch three

Back to the re-spray, it's taken a while to finally decide on the colours, however I finally decided on Silver and Metallic purple! My boyfriend made me a ickle model of a mini in the colours, I like to call it my 'prototype' (spelling) so I could see what she'll look like once she's been sprayed, it's looks really good and have just taken some pictures of it....

What she'll look like..........................hopefully!

I've also been collecting some bits and bobs to add on once she's done including some spot lamps, bullet mirrors and the list goes on!

I've quite a few more plans.....hopefully 1275 conversion...one day!

But she goes in for her re-spray at the beginning at Sept, so it's just a case of waiting now.......and earning some pennies to pay for it all!! :)

thanks for that guys, i'm glad you like it!

I got it from here. It took about 3 days to be delivered, and took about a week to make. The model is amazingly detailed, its based on an SPi Cooper, and even has things like the ECU etc included. I left things off on the model that Pixie's car didn't have (like the ECU, SPi airbox etc).

It has working steering, and the bonnet opens too! :)

In terms of making it, I just primed, sprayed and lacquered the car like you normally would with a real one. The colours are Rover Quicksilver metallic and Ford Purple Velvet metallic. I sanded the centre of the wheels and masked the edges for the chrome effect, and masked the bonnet for the stripes (they're painted on). Stuff like the mirrors, roof, number plate light and arches were painted seperately, as were the engine and other bits 'n' bobs. Oh, and with the number plates I just printed some off on the same font as Sian's plates then lacquered over them!

Have to admit, it looks good in the pics! :dontgetit:

Are you referring to the Tamiya model John?

If so, then it would be possible, but the front subframe mounts onto the front panel of the car, so you would have to fit brace bars to allow the subframe to be supported at the front. The rear mounts and tower mounts would be ok.

You'd have to cut the wings at the seam and the scuttle, and fix hinges to allow the front to pivot.

hmmm, I told you it was realistic!
