Okay, taken inlet manifold assembly away from head to get at that bloody Lambda Sensor!!!!
Wyhen pulling back the manifold the 2 x Ferrule Rings dropped out. Do they have a seal on them (one appeared to have a bit of joint tape wrapped around it, the other had nothing)?
whicj is best way when putting assembly back - put in head or manifold?

No seal, that is the manifold gaskets job

I normally open then up a little, so when you fit them to the head, you have to compress them in a bit and grip the head and stay there, then fit the manifold.

It's all coming off again now!!!!! After finally getting the Lambda Sensor fitted (what a ball-ache) I finally found the oil leak I have had for sometime, it's coming from the the corner of the cylinder head gasket, little sod to find, guessworks even put some tracer dye in the oil to find it as it's foxed us for some time (thought it was back of the timing cover backplate?????).
Ah well, at least we don't have to take the engine out again?
I wonder if this has been the cause of my misfire all this time (about 4 sensors changes ago????)
