im looking for an engine to tinker with or i will be after christmas and i was just wondering what the differences are between a metro and a mini engine because you can buy a metro for cheaper than a mini engine

Not sure what metro engine's you're looking at, but A(or A+) engines from a metro or a mini are essentially the same, just a few differences with some of the ancillaries and mounts.

If the metro engine you're looking at is a 1.1 or 1.4 then it's a K series which will be no use to you.

Effectively yes - you won't find an easier engine swap out there unless it's "like for like"
