Hi everyone, just wondering whether anyone else is having trouble with their gauges steaming up from inside (condensation) when illumined. Obviously the lights are hot and the car inside is cold, is it just a matter of warming the inside of the car or what? Its a centre speedo pod type.

Hey, your not alone and mines garaged, however, it's not the speedo or tacho, it's the oil temp, clock and volt gauges that steam up inside. There not the brightest of lights when its warm and dry!!!

Thanks mate. Have you got any tips on how to deal with it or is it just a matter of grim and bearing it.

Are they in a centre binnacle jobby? The back of the gauges are open to the engine bay so more prone to picking up damp.

It's trapped moisture condensing, you'd have to dry them out thoroughly , take them indoors, and then seal them to keep the moisture out.

I was thinking of swapping the bulbs for ones with slightly higher wattage - I think they are probably 4 or 5 watt so gou=ing up to 10 watt should brighten them up and generate a bit more heat to disspiate the condensation quicker?
