So you're going to see a Mini 1275GT?

Arm yourself with a magnet and use it to ensure all the panels are steel and not filler or cardboard etc.

So check the tops of the wings, scuttle panel, inner and outer sills and steps etc.

I'm sure sills and floor pans would be high on the list to check, as well as subframes and boot floor.

As far as genuine GT is concerned, the documents should verify that, just check the chassis numbers and the engine number if you can. don't forget to do a reg check too, just in case it's been crashed etc...text the reg to 83600, you'll get a mini report of the car, it's only £3
Free bump anyway, good luck.

Check the roof corners for rust or bubbling and the gutters and as said the V5 should verify if it is a 1275gt, make sure the vin numbers match with the vin stamped on a plate on the slam panel.

A 1275gt should have a servo mounted on a bracket on the left inner wing

i am in malta not the uk so texting the reg and that things are not available.

he said the spray is still original, its white, tinted glass as fitted from the factory, original interior.

the gt had 12 inch wheels and disk brakes right?

also its passed our version of mot a few weeks ago, so i suppose it should be ok.

will go to see it on friday in the afternoon and see by myself if what he advertised was real. thanks a lot

Yes the earlier 10 inch Gt had the 7.5 inch Cooper S disk setup and the later 12 inch Gt had the 8.4 inch disk set up

No, the later 12 inch wheeled GT with the 8.4 inch disk set up (i.e. post 1974) wasn't equipped with a servo as standard.

There's tons of 1275GT's and sales literature on this site to compare with: -

No worries, you can blame British Leyland cost cutting.

will get it next monday :D

it is not a 1275gt but was originally a 1098. it now has a metro 1275 in it which was hauled not long ago and works very well. as for the spray it is very good but has a little dents here and there. will sort these too. interior is excellent.

i am really pleased with it :D
