The first thing to do is to fit a decent stage one kit. This will give a useful increase in torque & hp. After that a decent head and a cam change will be next.
If you haven't already got it i would suggest getting a copy of David Vizards "Tuning the A-Series" book. This will answer loads of questions when it comes to making your Mini faster.

you've posted this in the forced induction section but don't want a forced induction car ?

back on case in hand....... ditto to turbophil's post plus do a searchy because there are mountain loads of content from people who have started with a standard engine and created a fire breathing monster the search button is your friend
