Does writing about what is so wonderful about the mini not get boring sometimes?
True, but as we're not in a position to change anything...as it's out of production and we're talking about a 50 year old design, the question has to be asked....does it matter what was wrong?

However sometimes it is nice to read and think about what maybe could have happened if a detail of the design was changed or to talk about the success or failure of decisions that were made rather than read again and again the things about the mini we love which we we all know in our hearts and mind anyway as it is what brought us all together into mini ownership in the first place.

I think Anorak's point was more about the accusative tone used in the piece, saying it should have been made differently, rather than what it could have been like if it had been changed!!

Wasn't the clubman a bit of a culture shock when first introduced ??
I suppose if you want to talk motorsport then it may not of been perfect, If it was perfect then Mr Cooper would have had nothing to do. but for the average runabout it was designed for its certainly done alright.

I'm pretty much the standard, totally blinkered, can't take any kind of constructive critisiam of the mini type of enthusiast and I to be honest can't remember reading the article either!!
So I can't comment on the real point of the thread, however I am perfectly happy with the Mini the way it and wouldn't want it to be changed either.
