Strange.

I'm with Adrian Flux, and it cost me £600 fully comp.

I was 21, licence for 3 years, no NCB, no claims or points. On a 2000 Cooper Sport 'S Works'

I don't think it covers me for Track Days or Trips in Europe, but I wouldn't have thought it would be THAT much extra.

Thats so so high. Ive just got my first insurance. First I'd try www.confused.com
One of the results from that put me in touch with a company called endsleigh that specialise in insurance for students so may be able to give you a good deal because of your age.

thats unusually high, i got a quote for £960 from direct line, no no-claims, fully comprehensive, with all modifications declared on a fast road 1275...

it can be down to where you live however and what the motor theft rate is like

Try Miniworld.
I am paying £629, with a claim in January. I am 19 in halls at Uni! Worst case scenario for insurance. you should be paying about 3-400quid with them!

No substitute for age it seems. £320 fully comp, no no-claims and declaired modified. I am aged 30 though, have a company car and named driver on the wifes car. It seems you cannot share NCB between cars :w00t: Should be much less than this.

When we insured the wifes mini a few years back with full no claims and declaired modified it was £280. Standard insurance companies wanted £600 :saywhat:

Both times used Hearts Insurance. Usualy a full page add in the mags somewhere

Try elephant, I paid £150.00 tpft on a 1990 998 exhaust mods anfd alloys declared (am 43 and as second car no NCB). I got a quote for Sam from direct line, 17, learner, TPFT only £995.00.

Also you don't say who has given you this quote.

You've gotta watch Elephant, I think its them that other insurance companies dont like. Essentially, however many years' NCB you have with elephant all companies ignore it because of the dodgy way they let you build it up. :erm:
