Hi,

My mini is having its MOT in a 11 days after a full restoration so I really want it to pass and get it on the road. I want people to write up all the things theres has failed on after a restoration job so I can check and double check all of the items listed. Obviously there are all the basic checks of 'is it working' i just dont want to forget anything.

Left to do as far as memory serves me:

1. Replace front indicator bulbs from clear to orange bulbs, (clear lenses)
2. Align Headlights.
3. Fit speedo.
4. Check tyre pressures.
5. Fill up and check washers are working.
6. Sort out indicator warning lights (dash mounted)
7.....

Thanks

Jon

I only failed on emissions after my resto but i had fit a stage 1 and not had chance to get on a rolling road before the test.

But if you use guessworks' link i don't think you will go wrong!

One thing i am slightly concerned it might fail on is the number plate illumination.

I have bought ones from demon tweeks as i seen them on a few minis and tidies up the rear end by removing the large light.

The are number plate bolts with blue LED's built in, is illumination of the number plate a big concern to testers as i never had any illumination on my motorbike and it passed fine.

Cheers

Yes the plate should be illuminated, also there should not be any direct white light visible rearward of the car... you should only be able to see reflected light

Worth checking any tab washers have been knocked over, we missed the balljoint ones after our resto last year.

It did pass though. He just advised on those

Mine passed a couple of weeks back but had a ticket for steering rack gaiters.
