I'm sure some of you lot have had this problem... Basically, I try to unlock the boot, and the lock is really stiff? The key slots in there fine, no problem with that, it's just turning the key!
When it happened before, I used an adjustable spanner on the key to help turn it, and gave the bootlid a little wack and it opened up!
I tried it the other day, just using my hands, and the key got twisted! Managed to twist it back ok though...
Anyone else had this? Any tips? I need to get to the battery!

First of all drop a little 3in1 oil into the lock, it may help.
I actually had a similar problem on a Mini that my sister once owned. Turned out the boot look didn't like one of the keys, but the spare key worked fine.
So we had a new key cut and didn't have a problem again.

Suprisingly I didn't think about oiling it! Too simple...
I'll give that a go tomorrow!
It's never fallen out with the key before, they always got on well! Wonder what happened?

Bad weather can cause the locks to jam.
