Were late MPi Coopers the only minis to have been fitted with side impact bars in the doors? Can you buy them new? They're gonna be mega bucks if you can though, eh?

I need some new doors for my MPi (grr bloody rust) and would rather replace them with the same type but MPi doors in mint condition rarely come up

the new heritage mk4 shells come with them(the injection style shell) so i would think you can buy the doors seperate!

i bought a set of the doors off ebay for £155 that look mint to me, maybe its worth trying ebay.

I think it was in one of the recent mini mags that said British Motor Heritage has now got the rights/equipment to make all mini doors except the latest ones (MPI), which are still produced by a company (and they say the company i just dont remember what its called) so if you can find that artical then you might be able to find that company and get some new doors.
(ill have a quick look see if i can find it)

Yeah, keep checking ebay.

I got a really good condition one with SI bars for £65 off ebay.

Also, what sort of condition are the bottom's of the inner part of the door like? You might be able to just re-skin 'em.
