it's going to cost you best part of £3000 just to transport it, plus the cost of the car, plus duty in this country

I'm sure ITV have some cheap Clubbys going after dumping them in a lake.

I know a couple of guys who import Escorts from Australia and the only way to make it any way economical is to pay for the cost of transporting a complete container and fill it with as much as you can. It costs the same to transport it with 1 car in it as it does full to the top. What they do is to wait until they have several cars ready to go, put them in and then pack the rest of the space with spares. If you contact any shipping agent, they will be able to give you a price for this but having lived in Western Australia for a while, the cars can be rusty over there too. I,d go with the last post and buy a Heritage shell if your gonna spend that kind of money.

cost to bring a car from Oz

Ocean Freight USD 1350 for a 20' container
BAF VATOS USD 500
THC GBP 110
Docs GBP 20
Suez Canal USD 9

Rate of exchange is presently about 1.5 so...

GBP 1369 then you have to pay for customs clearance at approx GBP 45 and duty which is 3% and VAT on the shipping costs, plus the value, plus the duty at 15%

baring in mind it takes 45+ days to sail from Oz to UK i think you really should have a rust car like a mini in a container rather than exposed to salty water for 45 days...

hope that helps.
