Hi,

Im after either an 11 Stud Head or a template for one.

I need to have my 9 stud head and block drilled for the two extra studs, if anyone can help that would be fantastic!

Have you considered using a head gasket for your template?

you could use the gasket for 11 stud as a template. You would have to drill the head first with it mounted on a drill press, radial arm drill or milling machine to ensure the holes are true and square to the head surface. Then fit the head and use this as a guide to drill the holes in the block. It's the sort of job for a machine shop, don't try it in the workmate with your Black & Decker. Don't forget to drill the holes in the block smaller for tapping.

any particular reason why ???

Unless you're running serious compression then there's no real need.

After speaking to other Mini nuts, the general consensus seems to be that for my fast road engine (1380, Weber 45, BVH etc..) that i should go to an 11 stud head.

In terms of CR, i intend to go for up to 11:1

Whats the opinion on this forum?

Id keep the compression down to about 10:1 or 10.5:1 with that cam

it cant hurt, and will give more even clamping of the head.
I am talking about the 11 stud head, ( otherwise Dev will not understand)
