Hi all,
Have a couple of questions about my 1991 Mini Cooper.

I have just fitted a set of superlight 5.5 alloys with 165/60 x 12 Falken tyres, the problem I have is that when I apply about half lock either way the tyres hit the forward part of the arch/bodywork on both sides, does this mean I have to fit the sportspack arch set? I have renewed all the front subframe mounts and no spacers are fitted to the front hubs.

My second question is that I have just picked up a nice Wood and Picket Stainless Steel nudge bar set, are there any issues with the MOT and the law about the fitment of these as I seem to remember that at some point nudge bars/bull bars were outlawed.

Other than that, its been about 10 years since my last mini and this one is No.9 but its slowly coming back to me, must be a glutten for punishment but I just love them.

cheers all.

you are going to need to trim the front of the wheel arch and then reform the lip (possibly move the arch up a bit)

it's not a big job and you should find many topics on here about fitting wide wheels

as for the nudge bars no problem just fit them

the rules you are thinking of are only for new cars
