Okay I have an issue my wiring is very dodgy basically and MPI or SPI loom loads of stuff everywhere alarm ECU immobilser (i think) but the engine has been replaced with a carb unit so half the stuff isn't connected up.
When the battery is fully charged no problem car starts bit of choke then when the engine is warm great.
However I did 70 miles on the motorway lights on, blower on, stopped and then started car 3 times total then my battery was flat
Yesterday used the car a few times about 7 starts lights for a few minutes in the evening now my battery is flat again
The battery does NOT go flat overnight but only after i use/drive the car a few times or on long journeys it seems to get worse and start to want to cut out.
My limited experience tells me alternator problem but I was hoping I could get some kind of list of things to check in order of likely suspects besides the alternator
i.e
Alternator
Battery earth
battery itself
Ignition
blah blah
so if anyone has any likely electrical gremlins they want to share to help me out that would be great
Thanks
Rob
