Hi all

Need yr advice. Im thinking of giving myself a late birthday treat...

I saw a '73 clubman for sale recently, asking for GBP 1,700 (RM9000). The floorpan is in great nick, body has been be resprayed 6 mths ago. Interior has classic non-headrest original seats covered in beige vinyl. Engine runs great with no hesitation and no overheating in traffic. Im very tempted...

The thing is, the Reg Card says its a '73 1275 GT but I doubt it is as its missing key components. First of all, 7.5" disks is missing, car currently has drums all around. The rear drums are of the non-spacered type. 1st gear is awfully short when i test drove so i doubt it had the close ratio box. It does have the 3-clock intruments though, which can easily be changed.

Engine number is 12H389#### with 9-stud and HS4 carb. Engine was very responsive when i test drove but I doubt if its the original engine.

So the question is... should I??? :)

Cheers

Syed

12H? Sounds like it's got a 1275cc engine fitted anyway.
