Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible): How can I tell what type of suspension I have?? thanks!!!

The quickest way of finding out is to look under the back wheel arch if it has a spring instead of a shock absorber it's hydro
But if its an Equinox it will be rubber unless someone has converted it to coils.

Well since BL stopped fitting Hydrolastic Suspension to Minis back in July 1971, then it's a good chance that yours will be dry/rubber.
