Hello

I'm not sure if all arch extensions fit all minis, or ?

I have a Clubman from 1974, and I have looked at these:
http://www.moss-euro...ateIndexID=3567 (part# MRAC401)

Will they fit my Clubman ?

there is some times a little gap near the front of the arch because a clubby wing is not as curved

the way around this is to sand/trim a little off (just a few mm) or find a arch you can fit the rubber arch to body trim to

you should be able to fit the rubber arch trim to those arches

I have also asked minipeople in Denmark on a danish minisite, but they don't think that these extension will fit my clubman at the front wing...

So I don't know who I should believe... ?

However, I do tend to believe more in you English men, as you have more experience with the mini :)

Yeah, but bungle's Cornish... they think wheels are square down there...

but yes a little manipulation you can get anything to fit, in terms of the wheel arm clubmans are only different from the A panel forward... and in terms of the wheel arch, only around the front 6 or so inches...

So there's no extensions made specific for the clubman ?

There will be some sand/trim/manipulation, no matter which extension i choose or ? ....

Looking at the pic you linked to, I'd say you'd have a hard time getting them to fit the Clubman nicely. I have the Somerford versions on my Clubman Estate and they don't have the pronounced curve round the front of the front arch as the Moss ones.

The only Clubman specific wheelarches are the Australian spec ones which are a bit narrower than most Group 2's but are similar in style. They fix to the seam/lip rather than fixing through the wing too, which means no visible screws. The only down-side is getting hold of a set on this side of the planet - freight is a killer on them! These are the ones I really wanted for mine, but couldn't justify the cost when shipping was added on.

JR

Edit: forgot to mention the Somerford arches fitted pretty well - just needed a little sanding on the front edges of the front arches - nothing major though!

Do you have a link for these arches? They sound interesting.

Which of the Somerford arches do you have ? Just the standard black ones or ?
I am going to paint the arches in the same color as the car, so I need some that can be painted... The ones that Somerford has which are primed, are pretty expensive... Is it possible to paint on their other arches or is it not a good idea ??

I'm not gonna paint it myself, but I'm gonna send the car + arches to a pro painter... So he should be able to prime/paint it no matter what arches I choose... ?

I believe they are these ones. They come in black gel-coat finish (which is very good quality and doesn't need painting) but as has been said, with the right primers you can paint almost anything! Just make sure you key the surface well or the paint won't be able to stick!

As for the cost, unfortunately as with most things in life, you do have to spend a bit extra if you want the quality - I spent more than the cost of these arches on several different sets which fitted so badly it was untrue before these went back into production (they were unavailable for several years, until about 4 years ago!)
