Hi all,

Well have got my car back on the road and it is running ok. The power that i got on the rollers was a little down on what i expected, 45 at the wheels until the clutch started to slip however this has now been rectified. I tried to advance the timing today and ran the following

14 degrees advance at 1500 rpm on a aldon yellow dizzy the car ran fine and was significantly faster than it was before pulling very well the only trouble is that it created loads of heat to the point where coolant was escaping from the radiator and the gauge was nearly in thhe red. I retaded the timing to 6 degrees again to play it safe. How can i counteract this is an oil cooler worth while ?

Also when running at 6 degrees its not the best at pulling away, however running more advanced seemed to cure this.

Am i in danger of breaking the engine by using the aldon yellow dizzy or should i move back to the stock dizzy (running standard cam).

Ultimately i want to run megajolt but will have to make do with dizzy set up for the time being, does anyone have any advice or past experiences with dizzys and supercharging.
Thanks in advance.

The aldon yellow will be rubbish best case and kill your engine worst case. Chuck it in the bin.

You could use the Metro turbo dizzy, or MJ (as you say).

For a quick fix until you get the MJ, get the old dizzy and lock it up so it has no advance. Then stick it on and set it to 25 deg. It won't run perfectly and is not the most fuel efficient setup, but it shouldn't melt your engine.

thanks for the advice.

think i really need to invest in megajolt. Where is the best place to get mj from ? also does anyone have any experience of fitting the trigger wheel to crank. there doesnt seem to be much room to mount the wheel on the bottom pulley.

if any one has a pic that would be great
