so, my plan is,

to have some white LEDs under the dash shelf, to shine down into the footwells when the doors open...

how would i go about fitting these in so that this could work?

cheers

sam

OH also, i'd like to have them on a seperate switch too... (basically everything that the normal interior light does)

Easier if they are rated at 12 volts. Tap in to a permanent live, like the purple wire that supplies the interior light; run the feed through the lights (get the leds the right way round) and to earth on the door switches exactly as the interior light does. If you have more than one light on each side link them in parallel. Add a switch in parallel to the door switch, also running to earth earth if you like.

I put in a light in the glovebox and one in the boot on my old mini, using some halogen spotlight things bought from a place called toolstation, cost about £1.50 each! They only do one 12v type I think.

I did it in my fiat, but wired them up so they come on when I put the lights on.
