Okay so as a few of you know I'll be doing my flip front within the new year & I'm lifting the engine out and replacing all the panels behind, I'm going to place an order from Moss (10% TMF discount :D) so I need to know approximately how much of each I'll need.

Engine paint for the block, 400ml spray can.

Etch primer for all the panels being replaced (inner wings, scuttle, door hinges, a panels etc..) 946ml spray cans.

Seam seamler (all the panels above) 1lt can.

Stone chip (for inner wings & wheel arches) 500ml spray can.

I'm thinking I'd just need one of each? But can someone confirm this before I place an order.

Might pick up a set of these as well, http://www.moss-euro...teIndexID=12362.

Well I wouldn't go with the spray paint for the block, even the high temperature stuff, its not very good. I would go for some Hammerite that you can paint on with a brush, its a lot easier and you can get into all the corners.

And its also a no no for the stone chip in a spray can from me too. When I did my front end the guy that helped me said that stuff is rubbish, there is more air in them than liquid, you would be lucky if you can cover the inside of one panel with that. So if you go to parkers, you can get a 1 litre tub of the same stuff for an air compressed gun, but all you can do it pour it into a tray and paint than on to. Thats what I'm going to do to my rear end. And doing it like this is a lot less messy than using an air gun, and its a lot cheaper that the rattle can ones. I'll try and get a picture up of the stuff I mean.

But other than that seems like a good plan, but I highly recommend getting all your supplies from parkers, they are a good place, they will have everything you need, because I used what you want, and got them all from there, they are cheap, and if you know someone with an account, you can get a discount.

You will more than one can of etch primer. Not sure how much, but them spray cans dont go every far atall, i would say you will need about 2 maybe 3...

Seam sealer should be plenty for the job.

As above with the engine i always use hamerite smooth. But if you are dead set on using cans you would probably need a couple of cans to make sure it covers...

For the block just go to Homebase and get them to mix up a colour of your choice - make sure it is wood & metal paint. That stuff's fine

dont forget your filler primer - to go over the etch - smooth out any final nasties.
