Model: City E
Year: 1990

This is a bit of an odd problem - basically whenever I turn a very sharp corner, though not generally when I'm just turning at a junction, my ignition light comes on. Once I've finished turning, it goes off again. Any ideas why this is happening or if it's something I should be worried about?

(I think I'm right in saying that the ignition light is the orangey one on the right of the panel, and the red one on the left is the oil warning light?)

ETA: Apologies for the stupid title... :D

Ah - the orange ignition light again :D

Red = igintion,
orange = oil :D

It's a common problem that can be cured with a central oil pickup.
The original sits in a corner of the gearbox and oil gets drawn away by centrifugal force in sharp, fast corners.

Maybe your oil level is a bit low?

Cheers,
Jan

the orange one is the oil light. Have you checked your oil lately? When you turn corners sharply the oil slops about and therefor tricks the warning light into thinking that the oil pressure/level is low. This is common to the mini engines and many are fitted with a centre pickup pipe on rebuild.

Ahh fantastic! I was worried I had a major problem on my hands - I'll check the oil level asap, though I topped up fairly recently so I don't think it should be too low.

Thanks again :D.
