As I pull away, my front bumper vibrates making an AWFUL noise.
It's a really low, serious sounding noise.
I was thinking that my subframes had exploded or something - but it's just the bumper.

When my mother in law had the car, it was gently reversed into by her neighbour.
This was enough to break the four spots and damage the bumper, but didn't hurt the grill.
I've got a spare bumper, but before I fit it - are there any tricks to make sure that it doesn't vibrate in the same way???

Cheers!

yeah, make sure the lip it attaches to has not comeaway from the front panel. Also use good sized washers and make sure everything is tightly done up!

Yer, my front one rattled too, and all it was, was that one of the nuts were missing and that the others were loose.

mine rattled as well I fixed it by putting rubber pads between the bumper and bodywork.

That was what I was thinking. Cool - B&Q here we come! (Although, in truth, it might be after the Xmas rush...!)

Solved!
I removed the old dented bumper, found that one of the bolts had sheared, replaced with a spare bumper, and used rubber tap washers between it and the body.
Now all I have to solve is the bonnet rattle!

For the bonnet, you'll probably need to adjust the centre pin with the spring on it. There's two nuts inside the spring, unlock the nuts that are holding it in position and screw the pin inwards slightly using a flat-blade screwdriver in the end (you'll find it has an indent for this already.)

should only need a couple of turns, lock the nuts up and try and close the bonnet.

Also, make sure you have got the engine bay rubber seals around the inner wing edges, and a rubber seal on the the bonnet edge, under the lip, these often perish.
