hi ive recently noticed that things are going missing from inside and around my mini as it is left outside my garage in a very private and unknown area its very odd how stuff is going missing

and 10-20 mins ago i was putting the mini on a pair of stands to do some work and two large transit vans came down had a look around saw me then raced off im very sure they were the local mushes (after scrapmetal maybe?) but now im not sure what i can to stop my stuff going missing

they might be after next doors cars or mine im realy not sure and dont particully want to find out lol

ive also herd from my freind that one of the transit owners have been mooching around her minis too so im being on the edge of my seat every time i hear a deisil ect i think im goning to loose sleep over this over crimbo :D

has anyone else had stuff like this going on in there areas or is it just in herefordshire at the moment?

any sugestions would be great

thanks :D

hi

last thing you want is somthing going missing especially your mini!!!, so if you have got people like that about best way is to try and put them of, a more expensive option is cctv you can get fairly cheap cctv now i think though, or a flood light with a senser so when you walk with in the sencer area the light comes on and thefs then tend to run away, or get an alrm for the car?? or the cheapest option is rig up a small l e d
light that flashes all the time so it looks like you have an alarm, or if you have a few quid do all of them, hope this helps good luck

ive heard a couple of stories on here about stuff going missing maybe there after your mini there is one topic in mini chat it has been pinned about a cooper sport going missing and that had an alarm fitted if they want it they will just take it best bet is try and put the car in the garage or try and rent a garage nearby or just move the min into your back garden

yep i know its rediculous we also have a garage filled with old rotten mini bit they could have made alot of money if the mushes took all that to a scrapy

but to be honst i think they want the mini shell so as they can get a bigger sum of cash for it rather than a few bits here and there

still im very unhappy about this

Transit vans sounds suspect. It could be they were testing the water to see whether you were keeping an eye on your mini or not. I would suggest taking the wheels off your mini so it's harder to move for the time being? Although in all honesty if they want it that bad they'll just carry it off, a mini shell will fit in the back of a transit pickup pretty easily.
Got any barbed wire handy? If your not planning on working on it anytime soon and its a resto so you don't mind a couple of scratches you could rig up a nasty barrier of barbed wire all over the mini, or at least across the doors and bits where it might be carried?

Maybe if you get the registration of the vehicles then go to the police with your suspicions and stuff is going missing in the area they know who to go and check out it’s a shot in the dark but if anything does go missing there’s a chance the police will get it back? Good luck mate

well its a shell and the van they got is a short wheel base one with a low roof unless they have a trailer i dont know, tomorow i will go and take a pic of it as its on a sort of jig?

a good thing is that its a one way in one way out avenue, theres also alot of old people always nosing out there window which is good but they hate the mini and i dont imagine they would care lol

oh!! just remeberd ive left a rear subframe out thats all built up out side i might have to go in a mo nd put that away >_<

You never know the police may already know them and your bit of information may help in there inquiries for instance what area they are currently operating in you’ve got nothing to loose and lots to gain
