Hi folks, my name's Callum and i own a '53 Morris Minor. If there is anyone one here from the online MMOC then you will know me!
I am having a few problems with my carb...i currently have a 45 Dellorto on it( oh its a midly tuned 1275 by the way) but no matter what i do i can't get it running properly. I have changed most of the insides and done everything short of rolling road(i am planning on doing this once i get the engine rebuilt to higher spec. but my question is this...
i have a 40DCOE carb that i was given but it is missing most of the jets. i was wondering if anyone could possibly point me in the right direction as to what jets/venturis/chokes i should be using with a 40, as everything i read says use a 45, which is all well and good, but that one isnt working! its only a temporary thing but would love to not have a stupid low down flat spot!
If there is anyone in portsmouth who would like to have a poke around, please feel free!!
anyway, thanks in advance for any help
*Callum*
by the way...love the set up of this site...
moved here as i got it all wront...stinking newbie!

Why not junk the weber and fit a HIF44 su carb instead?

40dcoe would go ok with a mildly tuned 1275.

Vizards yellow book says for a 1275 with modified head,

Choke 35
Main Jet 145
Air Corrector 180
Em tube F16
pump Jet 45
Idle 50F2

I have a 40 DCOE in the shed that came off a 1293 "s" motor which is jetted almost exactly the same as this.
