Model:cooper
Year:1990
Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible):

replaced my fuse box and inline fuses today

Posted Image

the inline fuses all had 30 amp fuses in them, this seems a bit high for some of the wires

anyone know what size fuses for what colour wires ?

I've read here somewhere that the blade fuse ratings are different to the glass fuse ratings?

i.e. a 35amp glass fuse will have a different rate to a blade type fuse?

Dont use the same rated fuses when swapping from glass to blade as glass fuses are rated by their fuse rating whereas the blade ones are draw rated

IE

35amp glass is 17.5amp draw and 35amp fused
30amp blade is 30amp draw and 60amp fused

Compare the 2 types here

So, if ive understood what you have said then, to use the correct blade fuses, you should fit ones half the rating of the original glass fuse?

Thats a very basic rule of thumb, but its best to check the fusing rating before fitting any fuse
