Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible):

I've had a search but not really found anything that helps deeply...

my wipers work, on the first setting, on the second setting, and when i push the stalk down it works...


But, when i turn off the wipers they just stop where they are instead of going back down... and when i push down the stalk, i have to hold it for it to work else it just stops in the middle of the windscreen..


so... am i right in thinking, that the park switch has gone? IF i am right... where the hell is it? and how do i replace it?

Yes you need a new park switch, or possibly the wiring plug for the switch has corroded away badly. The switch is easily replaced, it's under the wiper motor and just clips into place. Loosen the ferrule nut on the end of the wiper motor gearbox then unscrew the bracket and you will be able to lift the motor to get at the switch. The wiring plug is available as a short loom repair section that simply needs to be crimped into the loom as this is a common problem.

and ZED my timing is great too now! untill i get in and forget and look like my wipers are having some mental break down deciding whether they want to go up or down...

mine does exacly the same but the reoson i didnt think it was park switch is . i thought that if this was at fault then my wipers would not park at the right place and carry on going and hit the bonnet ?? is that not what the park switch does then

what colours of wire are connected to the limit switch (within the park switch)?

mine doesnt park but like ZED its not realy an issue for me, i just time it right to get it down. may replace it someday but ive got more important things to work on

All that happens when you turn your wipers off is you switch them into the circuit with the park switch in - there's a ramp on the motor gear that opens the park switch when the wipers are at the bottom. The wiper motor just goes round and round, it has a crank to make the back 'n forth motion, just like the pistons in the engine.

Ive got the problem, too. Its not my parking switch(i changed it) ,its the fuse3 connections in the fuse box: Ive lost both my tacho and heater motor too, tho oddly not all at once. Ime just about to clean the fuse holder.
