Might be worth asking to have this topic moved to the injection section?

Looks like the guts relay module that is mounted on top of the brake servo.
But it's definitly missing a cover.

(Its item 8 inthe picture in the Haynes manual page 1.4/5 if you have one to hand)

It's the relay module. Have a look to see if there's an empty plaggy box above the brake pedal linkage.

That is the MEMS relay module, engine management stuff, and yes it should have a cover on it;

The relay module is located in the engine compartment adjacent to the engine control module.
The relay module contains the following relays:
• Main relay - energised when the ignition is switched on and supplies power to the ECM.
• Fuel pump relay - energised by the ECM for a short period when the ignition is switched on, during cranking and while the engine is running.
• Starter relay - energised by the cranking signal from the ignition switch.
• Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) relay - energised by the ECM and supplies current to the heated oxygen sensor element.

Common missconception on the SPi that the relay pack supplies power to the oxygen sensor. It does not, it supplies power to the manifold heater instead >_<

What is the real question being asked here?
