Hi Peeps,

I know your all gonna say dont put a Weber on a 998, but ive bought one to basically see what i think. Its only a 998 Stg1 running MJ currently, but its main purpose will be to fuel the new (bigger, tuned) engine in March, but i just want to play with it for the time being lol  .

Basically, what jets etc. will get me up and running sensibly(ish)? I know a few people on here are running a Weber on a 998. Its currently jetted for a 1330. It needs a new throttle shaft, but thats all taken care of as far as im concerned.

Just want to know what other Weber'd 998's are running.

Cheers,

Tom.

Edit: Forgot to say its a 40 DCOE :genius:

Pump Jet: 35
Main Jet: 125
Emulsion Tube: F16
Air Corrector: 155

Thanks.

Thanks! Ill have a read of that properly later. It also recommends these for a fairly tuned 998:

choke 33
main jet 140
air cor. 180
em. tube F16
pump jet 40
idle 50f2
aux vent 4.5

So it looks like im a bit leaner to me, bar the idle jet (by farr). But before i do anything else ill read Vizards and get my head round that.

Thanks.

Righto, (thanks luke for the secret bump)

Ive tried it on the engine today - fired it up and it burst into life! So i thought "yeah thats a good start", but this is what happened:
CLICK

Basically it idles fairly good from what i can tell, however, like a complete mug i forgot to scrape the old gasket of the inlet manifold for the weber. So i might have had an air leak :proud:. The trouble is, if i jab the throttle (or give it some beans) it just stalls/hesitates or whatever, until i back off and it idles ok again. So for some reason i thought the pump jet was rich, so i taped up the holes and tried it again - it ran worse =]. It increases RPM if i accelerate slowly.

As im running MJ, i disconnected the MJ unit, and ran it just off the EDIS - i thought it was a little better but really not that noticeable.

Im running a DCOE 13 body, and ive read the progression holes are a little weak for some engines - but surely that wont be a problem on a 998?

So basically - what does the problem sound like to you? (you can hear me jab the throttle about 34s from then end). I had it running good on idle with the colortune.

Cheers.

Cheers Kel, i had kinda decided that, but i didnt make sense. To me though, it sounds well lean - ie. the hesitating bit. could i try enlarging the hole on the jets?
