Was being a bit nosey a while back so i decided to see what happened to my first mini after i wrote it off back in may :withstupid:

From what ive looked into its still registered with the same plate >_< Whats going on with that ! is it sitting in a scrap yard somewhere ?

Just seems a bit wierd to me thought they would have done something with the plate and what not

Scrappers never used to be that bothered with paperwork. It wouldn't hurt to check with your insurers or the DVLA to make sure it's no longer in your name. If it was a Cat C it could have been sold on for repair.

A scrapped car still comes up on a DVLA vehicle enquiry. It should just say it's unlicensed and when the last tax disc expired.

It was an insurance write off, it's proberly 100% repairable and 9/10 it is, but the insurance think it will cost more to repair than the actual book value of the car (thats why people say to get an agreed valuation, then the insurance will look at the price which has been agreed, which reduces the risk of being written off).

If you look at my project thread, I have rescently put a salvaged mini back on the road as my 2nd mini. Just need a VIC (vehicle idently check) to make VOSA sure the car is what it says it is.

Just make sure that you are no longer the owner.

Paul.
