Newbie - Riley Elf Convertible

Anyway, unsurprisinly I picked up the '67 Elf convertible on Ebay too but the previous owner knew nothing about its history and as I intend on a full resto (see http://www.pistonhea...dilemma.......) I thought it would be good to track some down.
At some stage someone has spent a lot of money on this car although someone else has conducted a series of unforgiveable bodges as well.... Anyone know anything about it? I've been told it appeared in "a mini magazine" and people I've spoken too also said it was seen at L2B a few years back - any clues much appreciated.

There was, I started the thread!
I've got a Hornet convertible, and they're about the same as the Elf. Mine's a slightly different conversion though neither of ours are the very desirable Heinz version, ah well...

There's another guy in Southend I know with a dark blue Elf convertible, (bought my Hornet from him), so there's a few of us about!
I think I'd lose the race, mine's got a bit more to do, currently in bits, (look in Minimag 155 - January, On the job).
Also I've got a project thread - see my signature, you should start one to keep us, (me), up to date!
You got lots of experience with minis?

Otherwise good luck!!

I see it as a bronze metallic with some polished slot mags??

Half of me wants to drop it and do a retro 70's orange but since Ford released the ASBO everything is orange.... The other half thinks why not white and make it a wedding car - that way it'll start to pay me back some of what it has cost and I still get to use it when I want! All I know is I have a brand new roof in Grey (lucky spot on Ebay the week I bought the car) and the one it came with that is actually a wierd olive green colour so something that'll go well with either of them.
As for the standard Elf pics I've got a '69 Mk III as well so I'm sorted (must stop buying cars!) Funny though I've had a set of slot mags that have moved house every time I have for the last 18 years!

I thought about doing mine in white with a dark red interior, but think it may be too discreet, if i'm going to have something obviously odd i think bright council yellow...
