I have a cliford 650 cat1 which i got fitted in Dumfermline about a year and a half ago.

It cost me £450 to get the alarm fitted and central locking installed and i got i done over night...and have had no probems with it at all, and it is actually great.

I left the car in a dodgy area once and saw a few kids eyeing the mini up and as they walked passed and looked into the window it beeped at them, they shat it n ran away...well worth it in my opinion...but i know there are better alarms and more up to date alarms out now...

hope this helps

i.m.o, toad are ok. do not get gap security to fit them tho. you will get a chavvy looking geezer come out, and spend hours installing the thing only to have to get them out about a week later as the damned thing isnt working properly!

What do people reckon of these generic car alarms. You know the ones with dodgy names like scorpian/cobra etc Usually about £30 off ebay.

Or theres viper alarms which are like £60 and are made by clifford - I might get one of those...

I would always go with Toad if i had the option.

Had Ai606's on 3 of our cars and couln't fault them, whereas the Clifford my brother had was a 'mare when the fob went flat as it forgot the 2nd fob and the system refused to be reprogrammed by anyone, even the company that fitted it!
