Do your 'Windscreen Wipers, Washer Motor & Instruments' work, because they run on the same circuit as the heater.

You could try cleaning up the fuse box as the rear terminals do get very rusty with age and it could just be a bad connection.

But if the fan motor is dead, then the whole heater assembly will have to come out to be stripped down. Pretty easy task though.

Just buy a Mini Haynes manual and do it yourself and no the whole dash doesn't have to come out.

Take a look at this thread as I explained what needs doing here: -

Yes I remember sourcing a good second hand replacement heater fan motor for my sisters old Mini.

It cost no more than about 20 quid from my local Mini specialist who stocks new and used parts.

Before taking the heater out, check the switch is Ok.
I had an intermittent motor a few years ago and it was the connectors on the switch had become loose. I crimped them back into shape to make them tighter and the problem was solved.
Try bridging the wires to eliminate a faulty switch.
Also check the earth???

I had a similar problem last week. It turned out the fuse "grips" were an ever so slightly loose fit : enough current was getting through for all the instruments on the circuit except the fan motor, which I guess has a much greater demand. Solution was to pinch the tangs of the grips to make a tighter grip on the fuse.
