Driveshaft Oil Seals

Hi,
Ordered the 2 oil seals for my driveshafts today. Was just wondering if a SPI Mini Equinox 1.3 96 reg is just straight forward or if there is any complications. Is it just taking the wheel off, split the ball joint, taking the split pin out, remove the big securing nut, knock the driveshaft out of the disc, move the disc, take off the timing cover and gasket, put a crowbar or tyre lever or something in and pop the joint out of the gearbox? Fitting the oil seal and then putting it all back?

If theres any tips or anything or if im wrong please let me know as im gonna do it tomorrow.

Do I need to remove the drivehsaft from the brake disc etc, or just remove ball joint, move the disc out the way and then take it out of the gearbox?

Why are u taking the driveshaft out of the disc and timing covers off?

Undo the top balljoint and split it. And possibly the track rod end.
Drop the oil using the sump plug.
Then using a suitable lever,lever the pot joints off the gearbox.

You should have enough remove to leave the pot joint complete with the driveshaft. if not split the pot joint from the boot, be carefull incase any of the balls fall out. And you will need to fit new ties when refitting the boot to the pot joint.

Use a seal removing tool and the seal will pop out.Replace with the new one and rebuild.

No need to remove any discs and that.

I just undid the top ball joint and the tie rod end. use a block of wood and a hammer to get the shaft off. DO NOT PRY USING THE ALUMINUM HOUSING. it is not so strong and can crack, I use the special removing tool but it should come off easily. An assistant would be helpful to support the wheel in about its correct position which makes it come out even easier while you hit the block of wood against the pot joint.
