Joining clip.

Fillet.

Rubber.

And I'll need the fillet tool, I don't think we've got on in the garage.

If your refering to the front or rear screen, i'd recommend a bottle of fairy.... """" lots of lubrication always is good """"" lol

seriously, took me ages to get nowhere, then my neighbour came out with the old " your doing it all wrong ", he got a bottle of fairy and with a helping hand it was all done much much quicker.

Be advised, washing up liquid contains salt, and we all know what salt, water and steel makes...

I was just trying to find out if liquid soap contains salt, but no information forthcoming from google...

May seem like a very silly suggestion, along the 'lots of lubrication' theory..... what about KY Jelly ?? ;)

I'll make sure I got the Vaseline to hand next time I need to firmly push the rod in the rubber seal

It should start/finish at the top, then a joining clip fitted, depending on year, some where just cut to length so they sit butt up together.

When you first put it in, it may seem like it needs to be cut as lots left over. Just go around refeeding it, squashing it up, and it should fit better. If you trim it to early, it will settle and shrink itself.

if i was you i would get one of the wider seals instead if the older thinner ones, as i have found that they make a better seal.

Vaseline shouldn't be used on the seal either as it degrades rubber.

What about silicon grease? Get it from plumbing shops I think?

Ive always found that works well to protect rubber seals.

yeah, they make a better seal and look better generally, basically any auto windscreen fitter will tell youto use one of the wide seals

how do you remove the rear window?
as the cables are connected to the window for the heated strips, so how do you get the contacts off?

When i did my Front Seal, i didnt use any Soap just soaked the Seal in warm water for a while to flex it up a little,
Then just abit of push behind it and a screwdriver did the trick!...

As for the Rear.. i am try to do mine in a couple weeks (Will let you knwo how i get on?)
