Joining clip..
Fillet.
Rubber.
And I'll need the fillet tool, I don't think we've got on in the garage.
If your refering to the front or rear screen, i'd recommend a bottle of fairy.... """" lots of lubrication always is good """"" lol
seriously, took me ages to get nowhere, then my neighbour came out with the old " your doing it all wrong ", he got a bottle of fairy and with a helping hand it was all done much much quicker.

I was just trying to find out if liquid soap contains salt, but no information forthcoming from google...
May seem like a very silly suggestion, along the 'lots of lubrication' theory..... what about KY Jelly ??

Be advised, washing up liquid contains salt, and we all know what salt, water and steel makes...

And theres me praising my neighbour !
I'll make sure I got the Vaseline to hand next time I need to firmly push the rod in the rubber seal

It should start/finish at the top, then a joining clip fitted, depending on year, some where just cut to length so they sit butt up together.
Paul.
When you first put it in, it may seem like it needs to be cut as lots left over. Just go around refeeding it, squashing it up, and it should fit better. If you trim it to early, it will settle and shrink itself.

Vaseline shouldn't be used on the seal either as it degrades rubber.

if i was you i would get one of the wider seals instead if the older thinner ones, as i have found that they make a better seal.

You mean the one aimed at later minis? 1991 on.
Cheers for the responses!
