I have some Group 2 race arches from Minisport, but they are only just legal!
The rule for the MOT etc is apparently that the tyre must not be visble when viewing from the top. To be honest I fitted the wheels first, then measured roughly how much they stuck out and then had a shop around.
It also depends on the offset of the wheels, mine are 7 x 13 Superlites. I would guess most 7 x 13s are a similar offset though. Group 5 arches are probably going to be fine too. Don't forget that you will have to do some metal trimming on the front arches to prevent the wheels from rubbing.
Alot of people recommend fitting a Sportspack steering rack too, they don't have as small a turning circle (don't lock over as far as a normal rack). This prevents the wheels from rubbing on full lock.

I have my rear suspension set up with adjustable camber brackets, Hi-Lo's and a set of adjustable shock absorbers so I can run it as mad.
I think the rears may rub a little if the suspension is left standard.
I would think it would be worth fitting the wheels and seeing if they are going to rub before you go planning on major bodywork mods. It might be one of those things you can 'get away with.'
