Powder Coating Kit?

ive been looking and have seen this home powder coating kit it costs about £150 from america and you can use it in a shed or garage and you can bake you parts in an old kitchen oven i was thinking of getting it for doing stuff like carbs, manifolds rocker covers ect?

what do you think??

I don't know much about powder coating but I have looked into it myself and certainly seems viable to do at home,
I found a similar machine, so thought i'd share as I think this one comes from the uk.

I first found them on ebay, and although there isn't any of there machines currently on ebay, there feedback was all good and seemed very legit.

If you do get either of the kits, please keep this thread updated on how it all works out, will be intrested to see the results.

they sell that kit in Moss. it's in their latest 'restoration tools' magazine.

deluxe kit is £109.95
pro deluxe kit is £549.95

all the extra colour powders are £7.45 a pot.

their oven looks huuuoooouuuggggeeee! well.... bigger than any 'leccy oven i've seen =]

I started to look at that type of thing but once I realised you had to bake it on I gave up. For me the most important part I would want to coat is a subframe and our oven isn't big enough =]

I looked at getting the http://www.electrostaticmagic.co.uk/ one, the only thing that put me off was it looks like for it to work correctly is you need to sand/shot/grit blast the item first. They reckon you can do subframes etc using a hot air gun instead of a oven, but I haven't tried it.

thanks for the info's! >_< im deffo getting the electrostaticmagic one and a small sandblasting kit from ebay for £60 and i might get a media cabinet so i can re-use the sand :P
