Hi just got this mini cooper 1995 spi,
i need the colour code for it, to do some respraying,
in the manual it just says Grey.

I am going to respray only some areas , were the person before has touch it up with the wrong colour. >:)

Which is the best way to do this.

not in the boot,on the left hand side of the engine bay as you look at it!
as you have a cooper the code will need to be verified by an automotive paint supplier who will give you another code for the two colours of paint ( roof and body ),
i had this trouble with my cooper, mine was RDP,which translates to code MNM for the white ( body) and another code for the black ( roof )

Ive got one in the boot, could it be different due to being a jap import ?

not sure, might have changed it as mine is an earlier model, anyhow take your code into your local automotive paint supplier and they can tell you the correct code for the grey
the code will be three capital letters

You could also try putting your paint code into this website which will give you the colour - it works for most dual colour paint codes too,

Hi there. I have exactly the same colour '95 Mini Cooper.

It's...

Body CHARCOAL GREY LVD (BLVC 1207)
Roof WHITE DIAMOND II NAL (a.k.a. CHAWTON WHITE) (BLVC 1218)

The bold letters are the Rover paint codes.

Hope this helps.

Are thanks very much, but my engine cod said RNE on it for colour. i think will have to double check.

If you put the code RNE into the search on the website I linked to above you get Combination of LVD/NAL - exactly what SeanO has said,

Yup, the Rover paint code RNE simply means that the body is duotone (i.e. the two different colours listed above).
