Not got much money to spend but my sprite didn't come with any stereo at all, so was just wondering if anyone can reccomend any decent speakers, would want ones to go in parcel shelf, so not 6x9s.. Not having a sub or anything. So any speakers that would sound good by themselves.
Is it important to spend a lot on speakers if you want a decent sound?
Cheers

i payed about 60 quid for the audio setup in my car.
which basicly consisted of a speaker board underneath the rear seats, a pair of 6x9's, a custom parcel shelf with no speaker holes, and then a cd player head unit from cash convertors.
the 6x9's are well worth the effort to fit. takes about 30mins to do the speaker fittings to the board, and it just clips into place under your seats. the parcel shelf and speaker boards can be bought on ebay just in the wood, or covered in pretty much whatever you want...
problem youve got is standard speakers arent of a standard size, as in the standard 13cm that most speakers come in...so they dont fit without hacking metal out of your car (not a good idea imo.) so you're pretty much stuck with the standard speakers. just you get a lot more volume and a better sound quality from a pair of 6x9's....so i found anyway...plus with the chequered parcel shelf and speaker board it just looks plain cool inside. a nice custom touch to your car for not a lot of money, that anyone who's capable of plugging in four connectors, and doing up eight screws can do by themselves.

Fair doos, thanks for the replies,
I'll have a look round,
Oh, how much you want for the kenwood 1?
Well it was £70 new and is only 6 months old (can include receipt if i can find it)
I would ideally like £40 and i would chuck in the cable to plug your ipod into it (cost £10), not sure what postage would be.....
It is this model-

really u want to spend a minimum of 60 pound on a cheap head unit again with i pod control u can get one with an ipod dock so it charges it and then u can controll everything via the hu so ipod can be hidden in the glove box (ipod docks and usb = alot better quality)
then u have the speakers u can get a decent set of pioneer 13cm speakers for £20 at halfords so again good price and great quality
next link is the speaker cable idealy copper which is 100% oxygen free less resistance more bass greater quality and clarity
ive spent probs 1k on audio in the last 3 years and were all great installs if u need anyhelp give me a pm or ring me 01254888046
