My local Scrappy had an MG MAESTRO 1600 in today. I have the opportunity for all the bits, so wondered if anyone has ever done a conversion with one of these ?!? Or just used the electronic Clocks ( speedo, etc ) in their mini ??
Seeing as its basically an Austin Maestro with a better engine, is it feasable ??

If so, it's not an A-series, so it wont fit at all!
Or are you implying a full on conversion with a custom made front subframe?
If I were going to spend money on making a hybrid, the meastro is possibly the last place I'd ever look for a donor....

He is on about the Austin Maestro. A car that shares almost nothing in common with a Mini. Why do people seem to think that any BL product will share parts with Mini if the name starts with an 'M'? Even Metros have barely anything in common with Minis.

there are so many decent engines out there why use another BL poorly designed product.
i'd rather put a french diesel in before that...

Shall not be going there though.... will stick waiting for a 1275 but like the look of some of the made to order engines around.
