Please give your topic a title that quickly describes your problem. Just putting 'Help my Mini doesn't work' is useless to anyone trying to help.

Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible):
Hi all hope you can help, i have just spent the day under sealing my car ( what a fun job ) as i was laying under it i thought i would fit the battery cable that runs from the boot to the engine bay ( the car is a just a shell ). I have the fitted the cable under the car using the long metal piece the runs the length of the car but can i ask how from the end of this should the cable go into the boot of the car i.e. does it attach to the rear subframe anywhere, does it go under or over the rear subframe before going into the boot, then at the front again any ideas how it should run into the engine bay.
Sorry to be a pain on this but i have seen on here how things can easily catch fire if this cable is not run or fitted correct.

Also guys and girls any ideas where the best place to buy P-clips to hold the cable would be, i am guessing these will be required on the subframes.

Cheers all.

Any non-standard parts that might be involved with the problem? Nope standard shell and subframes.

After it comes out of the metal strip going the length of the car, I believe it goes behind the rear subframe, held in by bending some metal that is attached to the body. Then through the boot floor. To make it easier to work on, if it ever needed replacing, I didnt run mine behind the subframe , but in front, then 'P' Clipped it to the boot floor before going up through the access hole.

At the front, the cable runs up part of the bulkhead and is held in by bending over the tabs, then onto the front subframe.

Hope that helps.

The cable doesn't go behind the subframe (brake pipe does), it goes under the subframe and bolts to it with 'p'clips and nut and bolts, you will see the small holes in the frame where you attach it.

Paul.

Just had a look at mine and would have to agree with you Paul on this one, thanks for that, will order some P clips of fleabay, think i will do the same on the rear subframe.
