i was just wondering if anyone knows anyone or has put a audi/vw/seat 1.8T engine in a mini. if so, does it fit in the front like a vauxhall 2lt, or is it to big. i was just wondering as i have read a magazine with cars that have other 600bhp from these engines
many thanks

I seem to remember seeing that conversion a few years ago. I think you have to extend the nose by 6 to 8 inches. It's a LOT of work.
dont you have to extend the front by 4 inches for the honda vtec engine? i think i saw a fiberglass front end which had already been extended, so could you just get a fibreglass one?

I caught a glimpse quickly of a front cover of a car mag the other day in the petrol station and I'm sure it had VW or GOLF with 600hp featured on the front.
Is that what you saw?

If your talking about a standard modern 1.8t in a mini then yes it'll be silly quick, mate has a mk6 golf with a remap pushing 280hp and 302lb torque and thats silly quick for the road, so yes anything can be done pending the deepness of your pockets, or more importantly what your gonna be using the car for?

now prices are at achievable levels, and 20 years olds are buying them and shoving them into lamp-posts, donor cars are available - tweakable 280bhp, 4WD, youd be mad not to.
