Is red oxide primer ok to spray on bare metal will it flake or will it be ok and i will be stone chipping on top thanks

red oxide is for bare metal to stop it rusting

I thought so. It's my thinking that you spray it liberally over newly welded panels until you're ready to do the painting.
Do you need to remove it before going for the proper paint job?

As above can i topcoat straight over the to and will red oxide stick to bare metal thanks

I believe you treat it as a primer.

the red oxide i'm using is in a tin and i brush it on, takes very well and drys with a matt finish.
i'm only using this in the ares that are either underneath or gonna get covered up so the finish isnt a problem.

Yeh I also used red lead on various bits underneath and inside,hammerite doesnt cover it well tho it takes a few coats so I didnt use it on outer panels just used etch primer >_< I aint no painter but this worked for me :thumbsup:

Thanks for reply it aint a problem brushing it on as i will be spray stonechipping it after ony the underneath tho and proberly the floors thanks for replys.
