I've just been on the phone to get some insurance for the mini and I was bombarded by no end of questions from my existing insurance company (RAC) about the alterations that had been done to it. Some of the questions I couldn't answer so I'm looking to you guys for some help before they ring back tommorrow for the answers.
They have asked:
What size were the original wheels on a 1990 mini city E?
What size are OZ deep dish alloys (and how much do they cost) and what size are the tyres?
What is the original b.h.p of a 1000cc mini city engine and how much would the b.h.p change if a big bore exahust is fitted?
I'm trying to take a second policy out 3 party fire and theft (until it goes on the road) anyone would think I am trying to insure the QE2. If anyone has any ideas for good insurers to get some cover on the vehicle it is secure off road at the moment.
This might seem a silly question (but I have never had to worry before) due to the age of the vehicle (1990) will I need to use a lead adative to the unleaded fuel?
I would be very gratefull for any help.

5x12 for the wheels i think.
Then again, we had another car a few years back that had insurance with non standard wheels but at no extra cost because the alloys that were put on afterwards were actually available as a factory fitted option. They eventually decided it would now be hard to tell what wheels were on at purchase.

Great thanks for the replies
I'll take it as the wheels are 8x13. The mini is about 7 miles away from where I live so I would have to get the car and tape out..lol..
The standard is 48BHP? and the increase could be as much as 38BHP? the exahaust is a stainless straight with 3" bore I think (not sure as I haven't fitted it)

I didn't realise it could loose 10 bhp by fitting this type of exhaust!!! what sort of thing should be done with the exhaust to increase the bhp?
As you can probably tell I'm new to the game of mini ownership, restoration etc. I'm just starting the process of learning about these things so I will probably be asking quite a lot of stupid questions so please bare with me!!!!
