I want another amp but only have 1 set of rca output/input (?) plug in the back of my headunit

so, would it work to get a splitter so it splits into 2 sets of RCA plugs??? Im thinkin it would be alot cheaper than buying a HU with 2 sets!!!

cheers me dears

and if anyone has suggestion of how to CHEAPLY get around my problem then I would like to know

I have 2 6x9's and a 12" sub, but only a 2 channel amp. Im running the sub off it at the mo (bridged) and my speakers off my HU. but I want the speakers running off an amp too......right so basically, shall I buy a 4 channel amp or a monoblock for the sub and wire up both amps! if the answer to the above question is yes!

if you are still with me!!

cheers

It's up to you, both will work, although you can buy splitters ive done this on my subs. You can get them from ebay, i've bought the philips ones and there very good. My mate used them in his car and they work perfectly.

cheers! I can get hold of a splitter easily then so just need to buy a monoblock amp for my sub!!! will a more powerful amp make my sub sound better as it cant really cope with fast bass (like dance music) the bass just merges into a bassline!!!

cheers

You get what you pay for realy, I wouldn't recomend over powering your sub though. Bad plan.

Well what are the RMS figures of both of these, there what you want to look at. Im using a FLI 800s to power 2 subs and its brilliant.

guessing you've got it bridged then??? just looking at the 800s might be too expensive for me at the mo. might get another fli 400s for my speakers tho as they arent too expensive really...and just buy a splitter! all sorted!!

what about the remote cable when wiring though? do you just connect both to the one on the headunit? and run another battery cable??

Cheers

Surely you can just turn the gain right down?

you could but do u know the exact wattage at every stage of the gains dial not worth risking also u need to let sub bed in for a week before full volume to allow the glue to dry inside the voice coil
