As the title says really, the float chamber overflow is chucking out fuel. I went to minits this morning and got a new needle valve, but its not solved the problem. As soon as you start the car fuel comes pouring out. We've cleaned out all the float chamber, so I dont think anythings blocked. Has anyone got any idea what it could be? :)

I have a stage one kit fitted, but dont think that would cause it?

Thank you, any help is much appreciated ;D

Is the new needle valve properly tightened? Is the float punctured? Does the float move easily?

Just had a look, the needle is tight, the float doesnt have any punctures and it moves easily. We tried it with an old float, but it has the same problem.

I have a new lid without an overflow on it, should I put that one on so the fuel cant come out, or is that a bad idea?!

Heya Saz - glad to see Lily running again!!! >_<

You could try the other float chamber lid, but NOT to stop fuel coming out, rather to see if you get a better seal for the needle valve and float with the other one. Getting the float assembly adjust can be fiddly, but if you persevere you should be able to fix it. You might also want to try using a little bit of grinding paste between the needle valve and it's seat, then clean carefully and see if grinding helps with the sealing.

Good luck!

If you take the top off the float chamber, take all pipes off, blow into the infeed pipe and slowly push the float up as it would if fuel was filling the chamber. If working properly you wont be able to blow when it has been pushed up. if you can still blow through it bend the hinge that holds the float so that when the float is pushed up the needle will be pushed even furthe up.

If you haven't already fit an inline fuel filter, then strip the cap completely, taking out the seat for the needle as well, and clean out the whole lot, rebuild..do the blow test like mentioned.
Don't really think you can adjust the height of the float on the moulded plastic floats.
Should really work after that.

Stage 1 won't cause it.

Thats for your help everyone >_< We got it sorted, we put a washer inbetween the needle housing and lid, seems to have done the trick, but is there still too much pressure?

I had this problem today after refitting my exhaust, and found that when i took off the fuel pipe, the little metal tab that goes over the little breather hole was missing, somehow i found it and it seems to have stopped it,
If anyone can give a description of what this little tab is for would be interested to know
hope it helps
