Hi all

Have any of you had a domino pimlico?

I've just aquired one as a project but have only one problem to which the solution is not obvious straight away.

The bonnet has been altered with an unsightly offset bulge to clear the dashpot and the crossmembers inside have been cut away to clear the oil cap on the rocker cover!

The domino is fitted with an MG METRO lump using as far as I can see standard manifolds etc.

Any help greatfully received!

Jonathan

I have the same clearance issues in the mini minus. I have just made a new bonnet so you can have my old fibreglass one if you want.

Actually your question is why isn't it.

It's because the plimlico is a a little shorter in the body. This brings the bonnet closer to your engine, rather than manifolds making carb stick out too high.

AAH I see!

Thankyou very much for the answers Alburglar, it all makes a bit more sence now!

I take it you mean the wings are lower like on your minus hence the carb/oil cap looking high!

A bonnet to fit would be very greatfully recieved indeed, could you post a pick of it so i can see how you modified it. In your profile pic you have a zeemax style bonnet is this the one?

I have seen many pimlicos over the years and don't remember them having different bonnets apart from one with an ERA bonnet bulge. but that one ran a turbo. so maybe there is an answar they came up with later, mine is shell No48 so its quite an early one.

thanks again

Jonathan

Hi all
Hello Jonathan - I have just bought a 1987 Domino Pimlico but I am unable to find any information about them at all, ie good bits, bad bits, owners clubs, spares etc. Can you help? Any info gratefully received. Thanks Carol & Anna

If you ever find out about the owners club, let me know.

I'm currently restoring an HT, and tried contacting them every way I know how - never heard back.

As for Domino spare parts, try contacting Domino Composite Products Ltd - their number is 02380 613517. I bought a new front bumper from them not long ago.
